Narrative
WASHINGON, DC – A fatal motorcycle crash unfolded in Southeast D.C., early Thursday, claiming the life of a 59-year-old man.
The accident occurred at 1:04 a.m. on Thursday as Don Antonio Coleman was riding his 2021 Harley Davidson Trike southbound on I-295 near Exit 1C, close to the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Avenue and 11th Street, SE.
Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that Coleman’s motorcycle collided with a guardrail on the exit ramp, resulting in his ejection from the bike. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The Metropolitan Police Department has launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. So far, authorities have not released information about what led to the tragic accident or if any other factors played a role.
