Narrative
WASHINGTON, DC – First responders successfully extricated a woman from the mangled wreckage of her vehicle after a crash into a tree in southeast DC early Friday morning.
Police say the woman lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons in the 1200 block of M Street, just west of 11th Street northwest at about 4:30 a.m. Her vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into a tree, trapping her inside.
The woman, who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was promptly transported for medical care.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
