WASHINGTON, DC – The Metropolitan Police Department has identified the victims of a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday.
At around 1:20 p.m., a Chevrolet Malibu traveling northeast in the 3200 block of Bladensburg Rd., NE turned left into a gas station, colliding with a Chevrolet Camaro heading southwest on Bladensburg Rd.
The impact caused the Camaro to strike a utility pole, resulting in the deaths of both occupants, identified as 28-year-old Thaddeus Nelson of NW, D.C., and 34-year-old Ivan Young, Jr., of Bryans Road, Md.
The driver of the Malibu is cooperating with the investigation, as MPD works to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
